Here are digitized versions of the taped interviews that Richard McSorley, S.J., conducted with his mother Marguerite Cosgrove McSorley. (About when, does anyone know?) There are also some interviews that Dick did with other members of the family. Tape 18 is something else entirely – perhaps a talk or workshop given by Dan and Marge Walsh, but we are not sure.
You can listen to each file (by clicking on it), or you can download it to your computer, iPod, etc. by right-mouse-clicking on it and following the download link. Files are in mp3 format, so just about anything will play them, including iTunes.
I’m sorry these are not at all organized by topic, and that the tapes are in no particular order. (The tape numbers here are totally random.) However, if an aspiring family archivist volunteers to write brief summaries of each of these excerpts, I’ll be happy to reorganize this page in a more sensible and descriptive way. At least for each tape, we could include a brief paragraph with a summary of what’s on it. Wouldn’t that be nice? Get in touch with Sue McSorley.
